Senior Jack Pelleteri is the first of adviser Jeanette Krizak's students to have won a Tops in Texas journalism award from the UIL Interscholastic League Press Conference.

Senior Jack Pelleteri, a Waldron Street Journal 2015-16 staff member, won gold in sports news writing and won Tops in Texas at the University Interscholastic League Press Conference convention on April 22 in Austin. The staff surprised him with a round of applause as he walked into class.

Commander Armando Solis, started the Flour Bluff NJROTC in June 1993. The program since then has been highly successful every year with 22 state titles and 15 national titles.
