On Wed. Nov. 15, Amy Brandewie posted a simple question on the stream for her Journalism, Photojournalism, Yearbook and Newspaper classes: do Froot Loops have a different flavor for each color, or are they all the same flavor?
Brandewie, who feels very strongly about her point that all Froot Loops are the same flavor, can only remember one thing involving why she asked her students this question: “Adam Greene.”
“Me and Mrs. B. were talking about food and I had asked her what her favorite cereal was and she said Cinnamon Toast Crunch and she asked what mine was and I said Froot Loops and she said she liked them and obviously I asked what her favorite flavor was and she told me they were all the same,” said Greene.
Brandewie, in order to prove her point to Greene, sent out a poll to all of her classes and emailed Kellogg’s cereal.
“I have to prove that I am right with evidence. There can be no debate. If I ask all my classes I get a fair sample,” said Brandewie.
Senior Olivia Cervantes sided with Brandewie, as did 70% of people according to a poll on the Waldron Street Journal Instagram account.
“They’re all the same flavor. I think that we like some more than others because the color is more appealing. It’s like goldfish. I like the red one better even though I know it tastes exactly like the yellow,” said Cervantes.
Greene stands by his claim. “I believe they all have different flavors because I hate the yellow one (banana) and I love the red one (strawberry). ”
When asked what would happen if she was wrong, Brandewie had a very simple answer: “Inconceivable. That’s not gonna happen. There is no possibility. Adam Greene is wrong.”
When students get back from Thanksgiving break, Brandewie will have them blind-taste-test Fruit Loops to further prove her point.
